ADVISORY BOARD

Berent Wallendahl

Berent is Partner at Caphaven Partners, a London-based private equity firm focused on investments in Northern European fast-growing companies in need of operational support. Prior to Caphaven, Berent was CEO of Leonardo & Co, a pan-European corporate finance advisory business. Previously, he was responsible for Global Client Coverage at Dresdner Kleinwort Investment Banking. He also worked for 13 years at Goldman Sachs with responsibility for Nordic Investment Banking, and prior to that at Ermgassen & Co, a cross border M&A advisory business, and at J.P.Morgan (in Frankfurt, Rome and New York). He also has extensive experience in advising and financing start-ups and scale-ups.

Berent holds a lic.oec. degree in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting from the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland.

He is member of the boards of DPS Deutsche Prüfservice GmbH (Germany), Genesis (Ireland), Jellagen (United Kingdom) and Next Gen Networks (Germany).

Cintia Tavella

Cintia leads Strategic Partnerships at Booking.com for the Americas. As part of her non-executive directorships, Cintia is the VP of Sustainability and Governance for the INSEAD Alumni Association, coordinating and activating 67,000 alumni across the globe to take action against Climate Change and to support the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Cintia is a professional with 20 years of experience in strategic partnerships, sales & account management, business & corporate development, mergers & acquisitions, strategy, operations and finance, having worked for Booking.com, Expedia Group, Citigroup, AXA and Diageo in the past. Cintia is an experienced non-executive director (NED), holding positions in several non-for-profit organizations and AI data analytics companies.

Cintia holds an MBA from INSEAD Business School (Fontainebleau, France), a Master's in law and a Master's in Business Administration from Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona, Spain). She is a champion of Diversity and Inclusion and Tech for Good. Having lived and worked in Asia for 15+ years, Cintia is originally from Buenos Aires (Argentina), grew up in Spain and relocated to Seattle (USA) in 2021.

Ilian Mihov

Professor Ilian Mihov served as the Dean of INSEAD ten years, starting on 1 October 2013. Currently he is a visiting scholar at Stanford University GSB (Graduate School of Business) and the Rausing Chaired Professor of Economic and Business Transformation at INSEAD. His expertise is in macroeconomics with a focus on monetary policy, fiscal policy, and economic growth.

Ilian is a fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and a senior fellow at the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research (ABFER). He also serves on the boards of Stewardship Asia Center (SAC) and Think Equal. He is a special advisor on strategy and development at the Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology (INSAIT) in Sofia, Bulgaria. In the past, Ilian chaired the Board of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (UN PRME) and served as the vice-president of ABFER. He was also a member of the scientific committee of the Banque de France’s Research Foundation, the advisory board of the Bulgarian National Bank, the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Fiscal Crises, and several other boards.

He holds a PhD degree from Princeton University and a BSc in business administration from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina where, in 2006, he was recognised as a Distinguished Young Alumnus. At INSEAD he has been recognized several times with the Outstanding Teacher Award. In 2018 he won the UN Women (Singapore Chapter) HeForShe Leader Award for his outstanding service and contributions towards gender equality at INSEAD.

Kalle Sundström

Karl-Henrik (Kalle) was CEO of Stora Enso AB from 2014 to 2019, joining Stora Enso in August 2012 as CFO and member of the Group Leadership Team.  Stora Enso is one of largest wood, pulp and paper manufacturers in the world, listed on the Stockholm and Helsinki Stock Exchange, with 2019 sales exceeding € 10 bn. Before being appointed CEO, he was Executive Vice President for the Paper and Wood Products division and, prior to joining Stora Enso, he held the role as CFO of NXP Semiconductors from 2008 to 2012. Previously, he worked for 22 years at Ericsson, the Swedish telecoms firm, holding a number of high-level managerial positions, including Group Treasurer and Group CFO as EVP, Chairman of Latin America and India, as well as MD for Australia and New Zealand.

Kalle holds a degree in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting from Uppsala University, Sweden and participated in the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 1997.

Kalle is member of the board of Mölnlycke, Boliden, Vestas and NXP, chairman of the tax delegation for Swedish Business and Commerce and member of the board of the Marcus Wallenberg Foundation. In December 2019, he was awarded the decoration of Commander, First Class, of the Order of the Lion of Finland, by the President of Finland for long-term work benefiting Finnish interests. He is the new Chairman of CLC, Climate Leadership Coalition, driving the climate agenda forward.

Noel Morrin

Noel is an experienced senior executive who has dedicated most of his career to providing and facilitating leadership at Group and Board level in the field of Sustainable Development in forest products (Stora Enso AB), construction & project development (Skanska AB), heavy building materials (RMC plc) and chemicals (ICI plc). He has a proven international track record defining and implementing strategies. Noel has also run an environmental NGO and headed up the UK National Environmental Technology Centre. In parallel with his corporate roles, Noel has held high-level positions of trust in business-led organisations working to boost the understanding and adoption of Sustainable Development including co-chair (2018-2020) of the WBCSD Forest Solution Group, a global network of companies from the forest products value chain. Its mission is to promote sustainable working forests and grow bio-economy opportunities.

Noel was a member of the Redefining Value Board from 2018 to 2020, a group of mostly CFOs from B2C companies working to improve corporate disclosure aligned with the Taskforce on Climate Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD). He was co-founder/funder (2006-2014) of the WBCSD Energy Efficiency in Buildings Initiative to drive a fundamental rethink on energy use in buildings in the context of Climate Change; co-chair (2013-2014) of a UN Environment global policy project for the Sustainable Buildings and Climate Initiative to “green” the built environment value chain; key driver of the Cement Sustainability Initiative (2000-2005) of this global initiative with sixteen competitors from Europe, Asia and the Americas to develop a sector blueprint;  member (1993-95) of the project team that created the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, the preeminent international executive education programme; member (1993-1995) of a specialist team established by the Office of HRH The Prince of Wales to vet the sustainability credentials of his Warrant holders and applicants.

Noel holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) – double honours, first class – in biology and chemistry from the National University of Ireland. He has also participated in several executive programmes at IMD.
